Long time, Now 30, Doing Fine
Life’s been great. I passed probation at work- no longer at will. No trial yet though- always close but then the client settles or case if dismissed. Hong starts work at new school in a week- it’s a 66% job where he works with the academically challenged students. His schedule is Tues through Fri, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rest of his time will be spent tempering chocolate with a local chocolatier specializing in organic chocolates.
My mama, step dad, little bro and two brothers recently moved to Nebraska. My mom has been planning the move for a while. When my grandma passed, it seemed like a good time to move. We’ve visited twice now- it’s a 7 hour drive from Madison. All you see is corn and more corn. All they do is work and fish. Pretty funny. No wonder my little sister is staying tight in CA.
Hong and I recently went to New Orleans. Love it!!! Very homey. Sometimes trashy (Bourbon Street) and sometimes classy (Preservation Hall Jazz). We had chicory coffee at Cafe DuMonde and yummy beignet (fried donut’ish bread with powdered suger). So addictive. I’ve always liked the chicory coffee because it is what Vietnamese restaurants use for their drip coffee. So it was pretty cool to visit my fav coffee place. We visited the World War II museum while there. I was pleasantly surprised by how educational and interactive it was. I learned so much.
I think our next trip is going to be tropical- maybe Hawaii or Bali. That will be in Nov?
Been a little sad because we live so far from close friends and fam. That means we’ve had to miss a lot of milestones in their lives. Lots of new additions:
Tam and Boun- baby girl and new baby on the way
Cy- two boys now
Kalyn- two boys now
Jas- baby girl and new baby on the way
Liz and Lawrence- renewed wedding vows
Angela Han now Angela Atkinson!!
May Vu- new baby boy
Padee- new Yorkie puppy
